Spohn shopping list

steering brace
panhard bar adjustable with poly bushings
lower control arms adjustable with poly bushings
lower control arm relocation brackets
eibach pro performance lowering springs
bilstein HD shocks and struts package

what do you think?

I've heard that the springs are a little soft and some people have trouble bottoming out with them.

Also bilsteins or koni's red or yellow? any suggestions?

Everyone has different experience with lowering springs. Anytime you lower a car you're going to encouter and have to deal with bottoming out. It's not a fault of the spring more than it is the driver. The lower you go the more caution you'll need use.

Also I'd recommend a Strut tower bar over a steering brace to start off.

I would add the Subframe Connectors if you can afford it. That would optimize you really good choice of parts.

id go with the bilsteins for regular street use. with a pro kit u can get away with KYB gr2 struts and gas adjust rear shocks if u wanna save the money for somthin else. i got the sport line springs and the kyb combo and its fine for me.

Personally I'd stick with the Prokit if your want more performance over looks. Since it drops the car less (keeping the suspension geometry closer to stock) and is also stiffer then the sportline. I'd say your list looks pretty nice. The car thats gonna come out after those parts should satisfy you.

I have all that stuff on your list as well as Spohn subs, 274/40/17s and Koni Sport Yellows. The car handles great.

I've heard that Bilstein are a bit on ther soft side but also very good. Koni Reds may also be too soft.

I had to add half a turn to the front struts on my Yellows to get it where I wanted it.

If you're going get all that stuff you're talking about I'd suggest that you don't compromise - get Koni Yellows.

I am still planning on adding the Spohn SFC's but I have Global West Springs and DelAlum front bushings. The rest of the suspension is Spohn. I have the Bilsteins in the rear and the Koni Reds in the front. The choice for the shocks came more out of money savings (both were EBay items) than for all out performance but the choice ended up being a blessing. I wouldn't call them soft but they are compliant enough for New Mexico roads which are generally rough.
