bleeding master cylinder
Ok, I went to go change all my brake lines (bought a complete set) and hoses with Goodridge lines in my 82 Z. The fluid was never changed in this car. I took out all the old fluid in the master cylinder and cleaned out what looked like gray dust inside the master. I then proceeded and changed all the lines in the car. Now to properly bleed this system do I need to bench bleed the master? Or can I just refill the master with new fluid and bleed the brakes normally? I never bench bled a master and according to Tom P it's not a fun job. Is there a way to tell if I got air inside the master?
Any help would be great.

Best to bench bleed it first. It's not difficult, just remember to keep the cylinder bore level to avoid trapping air.
And keep plenty of water handy to rinse away any fluid that does get on your paint - and rinse it away immediately!
