Spohn or Alston SFC's???
Ok... I've had it. I knew these cars flexed a bit but I really experienced it when I backed out of a driveway sideways on Sunday on my way to MIR (1/4 mile track in Budds Creek, MD). I actually saw, felt, and heard the car twist! Whoa... that REALLY got my attention...
Now... I know some people will say "get both". I really cant afford both right now. So...
Which one will stiffen the car up the most? I like the Alstons because I've read that they are lighter, plus you really cant see them once theyre on the car. But at the same time I like the Spohns due to the fact that they are mounted on the perimeter on the "frame", if thats what you call a frame...
Honest opinions please.
I will also search and read up on what you all are saying.
Oh...is it true that you can jack on the Spohns? Can you jack on the Alstons?

The Spohns make a great jacking rail because they're right there at the edge of the body. You can get a jack under the Alstons but it's not any easier than jacking under the subframe itself. I got Alston's first, partly because I like the direct subframe-subframe connection and partly because Lon at TDS did a GP on them and the price was right. From what I've read the Alston's are better for overall strength (for straight-line racing and rough driving conditions,) but the Spohn deisgn resists twisting better (for corner-carving.)
FWIW after the Alston install I noticed a MUCH stiffer chassis, and a distinct lack of squeaking. My hatch used to make all kinds of racket but now it's quiet as can be.
