BMR Wonderbar and Jamex STB
I've got a deal to get these both for $100. Are they good pieces? I've read bad things about both but I think if they do what they're supposed to and are this cheap I should pick them up. Any opinions? Also, how much of a difference will I notice? My car is all stock. Thanks

i dont know if its much of a deal except savings on shipping. tds (sponsor above top down solutions) has a wonderbar for 50 but i think it might still be on sale as a group purchase for cheaper. i have also seen the jamex type strut tower braces go for around 30 bucks on ebay and a few got them on here a while ago. people say that the stiffening of the front end, which is what these parts do, helps in cornerning a good deal.

That's outrageous in my opinion... someone is trying to screw you over. Jamex STB was offered to this board acouple months back at 30 bucks shipped (correct me if I'm wrong people).
I would just buy the wonderbar is possible (there worth 50 bucks for aftermarket types) I think TDS was selling for 42 + shipping on the GP.
Here's what they do:
STB: runs from one strut tower to the other. Pretty much connects the area that the front end suspension mounts to up high together. This is suppose to reduce body roll and increase cornering ability. They also make them in 3 pt versions that connect to the cowl area also. This provides another anchor point thus improving the twist resistance even more. (4th gens are prone to cracking windshields with 3 points due to reduce material in that area but we don't have to worry about that on our 3rd gens we have pretty meat ;-)).
Wonderbar: Connects both sides of the front sub frame. Pretty much just a lateral bar that slips underneath the sway bar mounts thus stiffening the front end preventing twisting. They were put on some Irocs stock. This bar also helps prevent steering box cracks from flexing. This bar will significantly improve the handling of the car (I add'd one to my ws6 formula. I know!). The car's steering will feel a lot tighter while turning also more responsive. It's an excellent cheap mod.

scrap metal
sounds to me like it would be a snap to make my own braces and wonder bar out of scrap metal from the "Alter" bin at work. They do not look like they are very high tech pieces. We throw away more 304 stainless than I have ever seen in my life. It will buff out realy nice too.

try it. there are quite a few people on here that build their own. do a search for homemade or diy stuff on the suspension forum and you will get a bunch of threads.
