Vette Rear

Ok, I know that there are some of you out there that have made the IRS swap. I would just like the part number for the Vette IRS unit...I know that it is comprised of many other parts with differing part numbers but if there is a single part number for the entire unit (ready to install) please let me know. Thanks all!

Re: Vette Rear

There's not going to be a single part number for an entire vette IRS rear end, and even if there was, its not just going to bolt right in. You're going to have to work some custom magic to get everything lined up just right down there, not to mention it costing a fortune! I've seen a few pics on this site before, you may want to do some more digging.

I know its not a bolt in project and I am ready for that. I also know that the torque arm is on the other side for a vette rear. I have done alot of studying and preparation for this mod. I just can't find a sorce for an inexpensive IRS...I know that I can get it cheap with enough effort.

I have done searches on this site and have come up with a lot of good info but no part #'s

Thanks for the warning/suggestions!

Try finding a 'vette in a junkyard... since '63 they all had IRS, plus a lot of people can't handle the power and drive them into trees and such, so they have to be around.
