Track bar no good with out track bar "support" brace?

Will I get full potential out of an adjustable track bar with out also adding the beefed up track bar support brace I've read about on this site? Logic seems to be that this weak link (factory brace) will negate any real gains from the upgraded track bar...?

Who makes a track bar support brace?

ive seen boxed ones on ebay but they were hella expensive. Id say just box it yourself. I ran with and without the brace and really couldnt tell any difference, but i put it back on because im sure GM put it there for a good reason.

I'd like to see pictures of the trackbar support brace changed/upgraded. I was looking at that while installing my trackbar, and I didnt see much space for "larger" around the exhaust pipe.

bent track support arm

I was looking at your ride there MD, BTW nice ride.
anyhoo as I looked at the rear suspension on pg.9
I noticed that your bar is bent too. Is this the way
it's supposed be? Just wonderinf if mine is ok or not
cuz it's bent and it could have been the stupid ***
that put the exhaust on or the pipe bent it.
Either way it looks dumb. Any hard facts out there?
Or soft guesses?

BMR makes an interesting looking panhard bar brace. It's also got a bend in it to provide better exhaust clearance. I've never used it, or heard from anyone who has, but I'm considering it. The only problem with the setup is that it lowers the mounting point of the panhard bar and puts it at a distinct angle to the ground (rather that being close to parallel with it). Apparently Jegs sells a relocation bracket for the other side of the panhard bar that could be used to put it back to the proper geometry.

Hey restoroc, so you say they are all bent like that? Or just the BMR. I must say I'm a bit confused, is it supposed to be that way?Or not? And it does allow clearence for exhaust. I am not going to put anything through there, so I can get a straight one when
I buy the relocation mount ? Or is it still going to be bent?

The stock panhard bar has a slight bend at the end as someone has already posted (well, there used to be a picture in this thread...I guess it got deleted. Anways, the support bar is supposed to look that way...and it's a flimsy piece of garbage)...the length of the bar is straight for the most part. The BMR support bar I'm referring to has a much more dramatic bend in it that's strictly for exhaust clearance. If all goes as planned, I've attached a picture. Structurally, a straight bar would be optimal, but I'd still be willing to bet this BMR piece is much stiffer than the stock panhard bar since it's made of solid steel tube. Moreover, it works out well for me since I'll be trying to fit dual exhaust over the axle.

well i know that all the bolts holes line up fine and it slids up and still fits, i think mine is the way it was made stock. just had the one off on my 01 ws6 and it looked basically the same.
