front sway bar and drag racing...

i was thinking..other than the weight savings, i know that removing the front sway bar on a drag car allows better traction by letting the left and right sides of the front end rise at different rates keeping the rear planted...

now wouldnt it seem that this is just a crutch for a rear end that isnt set up 100% correctly....in theory, wouldnt a well set up rear suspension negate any adavantage of removing the sway bar

in theroy it sounds good, but why spend the time, effort, and money to over come the negative effects of having a front sway bar when you can remove it with very little effort, time, and zero money.

to have a car thatll hook and also not have a ton of body roll around curves. even w/ nice soft v6 springs (in a v8 car) up front a hollow 1le sway bar would make the car alot more stable...i dunno, i just like haveing a car thatll stick on the strip but also be a pleasure to drive on twisty back roads...nothing that id want to autocross or road race with, but something thatll stay relatively flat on a curve.

it works beause it allows more suspension travel in the front end, giving the car better weight transfer.

I personally felt no difference in handling when I removed mine this spring-hey I even had my original radials on too to flog around on for fun-kinda miss lettin the rear end hang out on occasion
Anyways, my personal scenerio was consistent 1.82-.83's into the high 1.7?-1.80
Ever car will be different depending on way too many factors to start listing. I've always been fortuante with my car as it's always transfered great-actually pulled the tires on a few occasions with these cruddy 60's. Then I've seen other guys with the same worn out suspensions pull 1.8-1.9-2.0 and then others as low as 1.5's So there's more at work than the swap bar.
As stated above, for the cost-it's a no brainer and I could tell no difference in handling.

i didnt see much gained after i took off my front bar but i still cant hook when launching, i am sure i will gain traction from weight transfer when i start hooking up better like with drag radials.
