A-arm question
I have a 91 RS LO3 and bent a A-arm hitting a curb. Are all the A-arms the same for all 3rd gen camaros or can I only use a certain year span.

i believe you can also use some S10 a-arms and possibly was it G-body....i'm not sure but i believe a lot of platforms used this style a-arm.

No, not all a-arms are the same
Z28/Iroc arms are different. The stopper that controls how far you can turn is whats different. If you install them, you wont beable to turn as far.
Car-part.com claims S10 control arms arnt interchangeable, but I dont know anyone who has tryed.

I thought the steering box controlled how far the wheels turned not the A-arm cause the spindle assembly def can turn all the way around if it wasn't attached to the tie rod.

Hmm I just noticed that. I'm not really worried about that. I can grind it back if need be.
Hey Kandied91z, I don't know if you got my e-mail but I'm def interested in the A arms you got laying around.

since you smacked it hard enough to bend the a arm, id suggest taking a good look at the spindle too....
see if the little arm that comes off it for steering is bent... check for cracks, ect... look it over carefully.
and of course nows the time to replace the ball joints and bushings......
Kandied91z: nice to see someone helping another without trying to make a buck. you dont see that too much anymore

Yeah my thoughts exactly. The k-member is cracked at the rear A arm and I'm thinking about just ordering the PA k-member and with Kandied91z A-arms and a front end kit from PST, I should have no trouble. I will be checking to see if the spindle is bent or cracked too.
i did not recieve an email??
the parts were the stock a arms off of my car when i changed over at 70,000 some miles. they are not bent however they have been sitting for a year or two so i'm certain you may need to have the ball joints checked out. nothing to expensive and much cheaper then new a arms.
let me know.

Dale is right about the stopper tab. It is different between the cars with 15" and 16" rims, but it's no big deal. I'm running 16" rims with 15" control arms with no ill effects. I think the tab on the 16" arms is just a little longer so you don't turn the wheel far enough to rub the inner fender well, but like you said, you can always grind the tab down some to match your old one, or just leave it alone. It probably won't matter much either way. As far as what control arms will interchange, you might as well stick with an f-body part. It's not like there's shortage of third gen f-bodys to grab parts from! Kandied Z's offer sounds great if you don't want to go out in the mud and the cold to pull one yourself from a local parts yard.

Well if the stopper tab is all that is different than I'm not worried. I found a used K-member from a 90 camaro with a bad motor and the a arms were the only thing I was iffy on because of the stopper tab. The 90 camaro has 15 in rims and mine are 16.
Kandied91z I would like to get your A-arms from you cause they are for the 16 in rims and I'd rather have them if I do decide to get 17s and the ball joint thing is no big deal cause I got a front end rebuild kit with new ball joints in it.
You can e-mail me at iggy166@juno.com
or IM me on AIM at iggy1718

actually on the S10s the 15 inch rim a-arms would stop the wheels from turning as far as the 16inch a-arms....
on my s10...came with 16s, when i put 15s on there the wheel can turn too far and cause the rim inner bead to rub on suspension, rather than hit the stoppers first. No biggie since i don't turn the wheels that far, but something i thought i would share.

so if I got the 15 in rim A-arms the wheel would turn too far or not as far compared to the 16 in rim A-arms.
