Wtf? (brakes)
i just changed my brake pads a few weeks ago and about a week ago my right front brake seems to be dragging or grinding or somthing not locking but making scraping and clunking noises havent checked it out yet but does any one know what the prblem could be? also since the pad change my brake light will come on dim every once in a while but goes away after a few minutes.

the clunking and screetching is probably becaues the caliper is sticking up. Thats either a bad hose or a bad caliper. Since he said the brake light was coming on i'd guess thats because of a bad hose is retaining pressure and messing with the pressure differential switch.
My only other guess would be the pads aren't properly installed, but he seemed confident that he did it right.

that was the complete story. Ok so lets discuss this. I've had both problems you are saying he has. Neither are anything at all like he is describing. Now since he says he put his pads on right and recently, I'm gonna assume they are in good shape. So if the calipers lock up, which they do, they wont make any sounds, they'll simply smoke a whole lot, get real hot, etc. unless something is ****ed up with the pads no sounds will be made. A bad brake line will cause the car to pull to one side when the brake pedal is pressed. Even if it causes the pad to drag slightly, which I have never even heard of, it still wont make any grinding sounds or scraping like he is describing. Good pads just dont do that. And if the lines or calipers were bad enough to have ground the pad off already he would know it. There would be no question to that. Please don't try to make me look like a dumbass. I know more than enough about these ****ty brake problems.
EDIT: my guess is if you haven't experianced any of theproblems I mentioned above then you ****ed something up on the install.

sounds like the caliper needs replaced. How old are the calipers you have on your car?? Sometimes the seals go bad inside and don't allow the piston to retract. Another thing you could try before replaceing the caliper is to remove it and lube everything up real good...and not just the bolts. Remove those 2 round pieces that are held in place by the rubber grommets on the caliper and lube those up. Thats where the caliper slides back and forth...not on the bolts themselves. Thats the problem I had when my driver side caliper was dragging.

Replace them, you can go to kragen and with a core exchange you can get remanufactured calipers with a lifetime warranty for about $30 for both sides. While your under there I'd replace the lines too just for the hell of it.

Hey I'm having the same problem but it's on my rear brake on the drivers side. It grinds like there are no pads in it, usually at low speeds. The pads are new, the rotor has been turned, and I replaced the caliper once trying to get rid of the grinding noise. I also disconnected my parking break cable at the caliper and it still makes the noise. I'm 100% positive that it's the brake. I just don't know which part. I don't think it's the line because I have a metal line all the way to the caliper. My brake light is not on and does not come on, and I'm not losing fluid, but for some reason I think the pads are sticking to the rotor for some reason. There is usually some paly in the caliper when the pedal isnt depressed, but mine was tight. I can't stand this noise any more and I don't want to take it to a mechanic because all that I've gone to are lousy. Please help.

Well I looked tonight and I noticed that the caliper was froze. So I went to poop boys and got another, I don't have anyone to help me bleed it yet to find out if it fixed the problem or not, but I'll let you know.
