Willwood Valve Mod

Performed the willwood prop valve mod that was outlined in tech article. Worked excellent. Went from erratic 2000 to 2300 RPM launch to 3000 RPM consistently. was not really difficult. Must be very carefull w/flares. All 5 flares worked good with Summit tool. The only leaks I had was from not tightening enough due to surgery on right hand. A BIG pair of pliers and a pipe on wrench corrected this. Bleeding was a pain but ultimately worked. I suspect too many up and down lines from line lock made bleeding difficult. A power bleeder would have helped.

Since this is a drag only car, bias for street driving is not an issue. The rears will lock before fronts if you hammer brakes, at least on grass. On pavement, fat slicks and skinny fronts help alleviate this.

Congratulations/Thanks to Robb Millet who researched and wrote article.

I plan on doing this too. I just wish there was a way you could keep your stock prop valve so that the brake light will still work. Oh well.

I just got my wilwood valve the other day and I printed off a copy of Rob's article. Very informative piece.
