I was told 16 x 8 wheels will put extra stress on you strut towers on an 82 Trans Am. So I need an stb that will work with my carbed LG4 with an open element.
Here are 2 pics I have that look like they will clear everything. Oh I was also told that a hotchkins stb and edelbrock didn't clear the hood on an 82.

I don't know about pic #2, but that top one looks like a George Lara custom STB to me.

the first one is a G.L.P (George Lara) since it is the same one I have on my '82 Z

I'm sure the second one is a Kenny Brown- I've got one just like it on my TPI car. It is a very stiff STB, but makes is difficult to work on the engine- you have to take the STB off to pull the distributor.

TransAm,
The above STB appears to work with a dual snorkel air box. Is this your car? If not, where'd you locate the pic? Is this an Edelbrock?

I found it at some guys webpage. He's on the boards. I tried to e-mail him, but the message wouldn't send. I'll get the name soon.
