Odd drivetrain "pop" while downshifting

Well fellas, heres the situation. If I am coasting to a stop while the car is in 3rd, or D (this is an A4), when the car slows down and the tranny automatically kicks it into second, I hear this POP under the shifter assembly. Only in this setup. If the car is in OD under the same conditions, it will not do this. The same goes for 2nd gear, of course. What gives. Its not the tranny mount, replaced it with a poly mount a few months ago. Might it be the torque arm bushing? I'm planning alota susp. mods this year, would a good non adj torque arm be worth it? I have heard of several different models. One that actually relocated the mounting point off to the underside of the car. Is this a hard install, I know some welding has to be involved. Anyways, thanks fellas

It could really only be a couple of things that I can think of...

1. The torque arm rubber or mount is deteriorated

2. The exhaust mounting brace for the cat is deteriorated (or not there if you have a custom set up).

3. Engine mounts are worn, allowing the entire engine/trans to twist to far, causing contact.

Yeah its a fresh poly mount, thats not it.Still trying to figure it out. Guess this and alot of other problems will have to be fora few months. Till I can purchase the remaining parts to do the major mods
