Possible to use 4thgen spindles????

Is it possible to use the whole 4thgen spindle, that way I can run 4thgen wheels with-out having to use a spacer?

From my understanding the answer is no. You would have to do the full coil over conversion.

Negativo. Unless you wanna rig up the upper a-arms, steering linkage and all that jazz, just get some spacers for the front from Skulte and use a 4th gen sized rear end. Or you could swap front clips with a 4th gen and hang 3rd gen fenders and nose on it, like Fatal88

Yea, that would be the shizzle! Oh well, it was worth a try! I guess I will have to use a front spacer after all.

Hmmm...... unless I can find a complete 4thgen front subframe......

Could I get awat with just using the 4thgen engine cradle / spindles / a-arm's / and coil over setup?

Or, would I have to use the whole subframe?

Can this be done while still retaining the 3rd gen strut towers?

You should shoot a PM to fatal88. He took the front clip of a fourthgen and modified it to use the coil over set-up but with 3rd gen body panels. You can do the conversion but I would imagine it would take some serious fab work to the strut towers. You would also have to use a fourth gen K-member and fab it to work with the 3rd gen layout. Fatal88 is about the only true sucess case that I know. He did it so that he could put in his LS1, use a 4th gen coil over and go with 4th gen HRE wheels.

I love the "just using" part, LOL! Man, it'd be way more trouble that its worth. Just the get 2" spacers for the front for 150 bucks and be done with it. Let the idea of swapping front suspenion systems leave you brain (for now at least), lol. You need a stinkin 12 bolt before you should be thinking of crazy stuff like this. I'm sure AJE Racing could build you a tubular K-member to mount in a 3rd gen that will facilitate the use of a coil over setup, and allow you to run their 4th gen sized a-arms and a 4th gen spindle, but you'll be looking at probably way over a grand for the custom k-member/arms, since their normal k-member/a-arms setup is almost a grand. Dont forget that 4th gens use rack and pinion, so that's something that would have to be address here too.
