BAER 13" Track guys inside please, quick question.

I hope you guys can help me out here. I need a measurement from the 13" rotor you guys use. I need the distance from the inside rotor hat face to the inside braking surface of the rotor. Easiest way I can think of doing it is laying the rotor flat (outward side down), laying a straight edge across the BACK side of the rotor, and using a ruler to get the distance to the inside of the rotor hat. Hopefully someone has their car apart and can get it for me.

Any help MUCH appreciated!!! Thanks guys...

I figured I'd be out of luck. I'm just working on a project and I need a 13"x 1.1" rotor and it needs to be close to those used on the Baer Track setup. I'm looking for a needle in a haystack 'cause all the rotor suppliers I find on the net really only carry factory replacements and I think i'm gonna need a rotor a bit custom. Besides Wilwood, I haven't found the size I'd need, but Wilwood's pieces, thru Summit Racing, are about $350 per side for my estimates...WAYYY too much.

Would you know of any "custom" rotor suppliers Kandied?

Thanks as always...

no to be honest i don't know of too many suppliers that custom make rotors for a specific application and the costs will be lower. that is a bit high though for wilwood. my 2 piece rotor replacement is only 230 a piece and that's without my discount. i think the looks of the baers supersede that of wilwoods but it's just my preference. call them up as they will tell you over the phone the specs as well. save you alot of hassle.

while summit is cheap for most stuff, their wilwood prices are higher then usual....

if you poke around, you can find one..... or get a 94 corvette "heavy duty" rotor

That's the thing...I'm sure a C4 HD brake rotor will NOT work for what I need, that's why I'm looking for the rotor I need.

Ed,

coleman racings 2-peice rotors are a pretty good deal, they will build them to your specs. give them a call, they are nice to deal with, and should be able to give you an idea of what a rotor for you application will cost.

I talked to Todd at TCE Perf this afternoon and he was extremely helpful and can hook me up with what I need. I'm gonna call Coleman also, just to shop around. I was ideally hoping for a 1 piece cast rotor, but if I'm getting picky I'll have to go with a 2 piece.

But look for something COOL from me in the near future....

I just went ahead and ordered a rotor from Baer. We'll see how it works, and I can send it back if it's unused.

after you measure it, could you post up what you have?

i want to see if its exactly the same as the ZR1 rotors.

Yep...That's what I want to know also, but I'm positive it isn't. You can't fit the ZR1/HD rotors on the C4 and LS1 setups I've tried, you just can't fit the carrier in between the rotor face and the bracket (even a 1/4" bracket) due to the offset of the rotor face and hat.
