Yet another prokit/sprotline post

I spent about 3 hours yesterday looking at old posts concerning the difference between the two springs. The more posts I read the more confused I get.

Eibach on their website said the sportlines are more aggresive and will handle better and obvisously lower the car more, however Steve Spohn said the exact opposite and said the pro-kit is better for performance. If it was anyone else I wouldn't but as much belief in it, but Steve obviously knows his stuff. So these are my questions.

How fast will it wear the tires out?

How much will it change the geometry and what will I have to do about it?

How harsh is the ride over WS6 springs? I put new monroe sensatrac shocks on the back of mine this weekend and the car feels great, they are really stiff.

I know the sportlines are low and I want that look, but if I am going to wear out my tires fast and the car is going to drive irractilly(sp?) I might go with the pro-kit.

But my white T/A with black GTA rims, no decals, and tinited windows would look awwwful damn good sitting on the ground. Speaking of that, does anyone have a pic of a white T/A or GTA with the sportline kit, I have looked but havent found a white one.

Thanks
Jason

I have the prokit and have been quite pleased with the performance and ride height. I did not go with the sportlines just because of ride height issues. Yep, your center of gravity will be lower, but be prepared to scrape your undercarraige (especially if you are running any braces/members/subframes that extend below the plane of the exhaust pipe).

Performance wise....I don't know. The sportlines will give you a more "agressive" stance, but they are both progressive rate springs. I don't think there would be any advantage in performance except with a slightly lower center of gravity.

Thats all I have...

You really can't go worng with either. I went with the sportlines to achive that slammed look with my wheels. I love it and the performace is awsome. Your tires will not wear any faster and if anything their life could improve. Your car will have less roll and be in more control and keeping the tires from sliding around and causing pre-mature wear. The sportline kit will drop your car about the same in the front but about .5" more in the rear as compaird to the sportlines. Ground clearance isn't the best but since when did anyone drive really fast into driveways and high turns in in their camaro?

Thanks for the replys, keep em coming

What about the bumpsteer ends or tie rod sleeves(can't remember what they are called) what are those for and when do you need them?

Also, can the car be aligned properly with the sportline kit?

Yup indeed. My car has always tracked straight and true.
