converting to manual brakes

converting to manual brakes

what would it take to converter my iroc to manual brakes, curious cause my carb/intake setup dont have vaccuum ports..

Engine: 5.7 TPI; 5.0 TBI; ZZ4/T56 on the ag
Transmission: A4, A4, slated to be a T56
Why on earth would you want to do that? These cars are already hard to stop as it is and taking the power brakes away would make it even harder.

I have 2 suggestions: Install a vacuum pump and hook up the brakes to that, or just drill and tap a vacuum port on the manifold, not that hard. A good spot is right behind the carb location or on one of the intake runners.

Just to throw some gas on the fire.... I was thinking of converting to a dual master cylinder setup with a balance bar. Something like you would see in a road course car. I think it would clean up the engine compartment a little and be more adjustable than a rear proportioning valve. I don't have any issues with low or non existent vacuum. The fabrication to make that work is what I don’t like, but a single master cylinder that is properly sized should be able to work. But ebmiller88 is right, it can take more pedal effort.
