Supposed to be loose???

I don't know what these pieces are called but they're both connected to the lower sway bar, and each one is loose, meaning they'll easily giggle back and forth when i wiggle them with my hand. should i tighten these up or are they supposed to be loose?

No, they shouldn't be loose...Tighten them up. Check both sides, front and rear just to be safe.

THose are called "end links".

THey're supposed to be tight.

If they have got loose by themselves, they're worn out. Go to Auto Zone and you'll find them hanging on a card in an aisle, for about $15. Replace them. You'll be amazed at the difference new ones make.

If you really want to shock yourself, get a set of rear springs (Moog CC635 or equivalent) and rear shocks, and the end links, and a pair of sway bar bushings all at the same time; and spend an hour (or 2 if you're real leisurely about it) and totally renew your rear suspension. You won't recognize your own car the frst time you drive it.
