I was just told about this tire and I am amazed by the price. /50 is only 1 dollar more. Does anyone have an opnion or experience with this tire?

I've got 245/50/16s on the back of my GTA, they seem to be a decent tire for the money.
They don't really hook at the track but they do provide nice smokey burnouts

I just got a set of 245/50/16 Kumho 711's ... a lot more comfy of a street ride than the 245/45/17 Falken Azenis they replaced. Probably don't grip as well, though, but that's what the Hoosiers are for.
I think the 711's are supposed to be just a step "down" from the 712's. Not that the 712's are that great of a tire anyway.

That was leaving soft too, if I left off the full stall speed I wouldn't have hooked worth a ****.

I have them on my Formula... I have even used them twice for AutoX in street tire class....didn't win but I can't blame the tires for that.
I think they are great. They are not particularly good in the wet stuff but they stick better than the BFG Comp TA's that I had previously. All that and great looking and cheap.
They wear kind of fast but no worse than any high perf type tire and at that price you can afford to replace them.

I have them and love them. I know a few people who have had both the 711's and 712's and say the 711's hook much better. I thought they kinda sucked at first but as I got about 500 miles on them the grip just kept getting better.

i have them. They are pretty good for the money you spend. my tire pressures are 36 front and 40 rear. but i'mm going top change that soon for some experiments at the track. i know they get sticky at the track and i get pretty good traction.

How did the tires do in the rain? These would be my summer tires, and being a junior in High School, these are the cheapest tires I can find in 245s on 16s.

Man..........I just bought a set of 712's.
I never heard anything bad about them until I got a set lol. Now everyone beats on them.
I'm really not a fan of the 712's sidewall. Looks wierd. Plus I'm pissed that I got 255/50/16s. Look alittle worse than 245/50...
Oh well I guess I'll learn.
I would probably have gotten some of those 711's if I had it to do again....hell I may get a set of those 245/45/16 711's if my 255/50s rub to much once I get it lowered.

I bought a couple. I needed new front tires pretty bad. I really like the tread pattern (much more than the 712's).
Overall, with the 50 or so miles I have on them, I like them alot

I just put a set of them on the front of my car and as soon as my two rear ones wear out thats what Im planning on putting on the rear, the only thing I dont like is that I cant rotate my tires without demounting them which isnt any fun so I hope they wear well.

I've got 'em on my GTA and love em they've lasted a total of 2 springs/summers/falls still have at least 50% tread probably more. Mind you, I don't go around doing burnouts and donuts everywhere either. Probably have at least 20-25 1/4 mile passes w/ a burnout in the 'box as well as probably 3 or 4 good ones on the street. Did a couple autoXs with 'em. Can't complain, I think this year will see me abusing them more, noone can beleive that they have lasted so long given that I don't exactly drive like grandma.
