Hi.

I looked at Kumho ECSTA 711 tires.(245/50/16) They are very reasonable and the pattern looks pretty good too. I was wondering what do you guys thinks about them.

Tirerack.com is selling them for $224 per set of four.

Are they worth it or are they junk.

thanks.

My friend has them on his car(not an fbody though) and he loves them. If those tires were available when I was looking for some, I'd have gotten them...

I was planning on getting some, but the tire is a bit taller than other brands of tire, which is why I chose to get Nitto 450s.

The Kumhos are ok for street use.

I have the ecsta 712 on my car and they are by far the best tire I have had on it. My friend has the 711's on his car. His car is just a mazda 626. The sidewall just blew out on one of them, but it looks like he hit somethin sharp.

Those would be on my car if I had found them in time. Check out the owner ratings on them www.tirerack.com They seem to be fairly well-liked.

You can say that again. My car will not go anywhere in the snow. Anything else they are great on, but once they get clogged with snow they suck. But, oh well, snow doesn't stay on the road for that long.

You guys aren't running 245/50/16s in the snow, are you? Seriously, I think I remember them being rated as a "performance" tire, i.e. they aren't meant for snow. I personally would consider them because I'm fortunate enough to have other transportation for winter. But if you aren't so lucky, you might consider something of a compromise tire, or two sets of wheels and tires. I've done the winter "slip and slide", it's not always fun and sometimes it's downright dangerous. Some food for thought...

I ordered Goodyear Eagle HP 225/60/15's for my 15x7 stock rims.

I paid $376.00 for the tires, mounted, balanced, valves/stems, disposal and Sears road hazard for each tire which covers balanced and flat repair for the time i won my car.

My current tires are 'may-pops'.

did i get a decent deal?

Those tires are in a group of 14 tires in the search category I used (performance, ultra performance; all brands), I used 245/50/16s for an example. They are listed at 25.7 inches in a range of 25.6-25.8 inches, so in this case, they are in the middle of the pack.
