i never had to replace caliper before but i think advance auto or autozone would be your best bet. i ran a quick search and it seems usually better to buy new reman ones and use ur others as core to save some money.
i would just try those two stores out and get ones already built that most likely have a good warranty.

Thats exactly what I was gonna do, I just wanted to replace them and start over because I was gonna paint them and add some slotted/drilled rotors all around and figured I might as well get reman ones, have em powdercoated, and then install em and take the cores back. I checked and it looks like list is like 118-119 from NAPA, with an 80 dollar core charge each. But I can get like 30% off so it might not bad once I get the cores to them. Thanks guys

Just got through researching this exact question!
NAPA is by far the cheapest--39.95 each + refundable core.
19.95 for the non 1LE fronts +refundable core!
Plus you can order on line and have them delivered to your front door for only 4.95 shipping for all 4!

That's just the base caliper though,no internals such as the pistons, seals, etc. I thought I was getting a great deal at that price until I went to pick them up. The loaded caliper is the best (though more expensive)way to go. You get a caliper ready to bolt on,bleed and go.

Exactly, im not going to waste my time buying just the core itself and messing with that when I can buy reman already assembled. Can you buy parts from Advance online? Those prices are way better than what NAPA quoted me out here...

Mine were ready to drop in the pads of my choice and bolt.
If you need it easier than that, well..........
A loaded caliper means it has the brake pads in place! An unloaded caliper does NOT mean it does not have piston, seals, etc, installed!!!

Well Zap apparently you and NAPA have two very different definitions for "unloaded". Here's what I received from NAPA: in the box was a shiny aluminum PBR rear caliper housing with new bleeder screw and copper washers..........THAT'S IT. No pistons, seals, anything. All this for $39.95 plus my core. From Advance I got loaded calipers that included all internals, pads, shims,e brake levers and caliper cradles with pins and caliper bolts. All this for $89.95 plus my core.
And as for "needing it any easier", I'm assuming from your sig that your car came with these brake, correct? Try spending the better part of 6 months scrounging through the classifieds page here and ebay, etc. for all the parts needed to put a set of cores together to turn in on a good set of PBRs for a rear axle that didn't come with them and then talk to me about easier.
Walk a mile in my shoes before you criticize.

Whoa slow down guy--I'm not trying to critize anybody! Sorry if I hit a nerve!
If you got reman calipers from Napa that did not have pistons, seals etc, then somebody messed up somewhere. "Unloaded" calipers is "supposed" to be completely rebuilt with piston, seals, new bleeder screw and copper washers, complete parking brake asembly ETC, ready to insert pads of your choice, and bolt in.
I looked on the "Advance Auto Parts" web site and you are correct. They are 34.28 + core for "unloaded" reman calipers. I stand corrected--SORRY. There are no Advance in Houston, so I am not used to thinking of them for parts.
As for my sig, the rear end, (although they were available starting in 89--I think) is from a junkyard out of a 91 IROC--had a 3.23 posi gear setup--which I rebuilt the posi unit myself and installed a 3.73 gear myself. I had never done either of these jobs before, but with a couple phone calls and the help of a good manual, it got done.

That's ok, sorry about blowing up like that. It was a long night at work. I did come out on top during those 6 months though. Found a deal here in the classifieds for a complete rear PBR setup for only $80. That was for calipers with ALL brackets including the park brake pieces (try finding those park cable brackets),cables, all bolts, a real set of 9 bolt backing plates, rotors (which were still useable) and even a set of Earls SS lines. The calipers were junk but for $80 shipped I got my $50 core and many useable parts. And even if someone screwed up at NAPA I still find it hard to believe an almost $50 difference between loaded and unloaded is all in a set of pads. Even Auto Zone shows a caliper in a similar assembled state for "unloaded" but it does come with all internals.
