vert B-pillar brace installed!

Designed this one myself. One company makes somethign like these for vettes but no one for 3rd gens. There is a tech article for a "rear frame brace" for hardtops that connects to the rear seat belts. This connects the b-pillars in a vert (the roof sure as heck doesn't) at the upper seatbelt harness mounts.

Would definately do this all over again. Very nice mod. Reduced top rattle by 50% or more. Have not had much drive time with it. Takes corners very nice. Takes much of the "undampened spring" effect from the rear of the chassis. Tires feel even more firmly planted at WOT (even after all my other susp mods).

I have to trim a little bit from the b-pillar garnish pieces, but its hardly noticable and will sit flush with the brace. Who lets a piece of plastic get between them and a great suspension mod anyway??

Sorry for the crapiest photos, but I'll get better ones tomorrow.

Anxious to see what everyone thinks. I just trimmed my b-pillar garnish pieces. Everything fitting together nicely. Woo hoo!!

So it is just one bar going form side to side? Is it welded in or is it bolted?

Bolted...it sits underneathe the seatbelt guide and the bolt goes through both.

Just went driving around. Rear end much tighter. Better feel. Rear end much more responsive.

check out http://www.r-dracing.com and look at the vette cross bars for alternative ideas.
