front sway bar question?

Transmission: TH-700-R4
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt with 3.23's and SLP Posi.
front sway bar question?
the endlinks on my front swaybar should be connected to something correct? i was under the car doing an oil and sparkplug change and i noticed that the sway bar endlinks were not connected to anything and the driver side rubber bushing was completly gone. a pic of what it should look like would be nice

They sell the sway bar link kits (bolt and bushings) at advance for less than 15$ for the HD version with poly bushings.

could this also cause the clunk i hear when i turn my wheels to a lock? it only does it at first when it starts rolling when i have the wheel to the lock.
