Front Wheel wobbels while in air....???

Front Wheel wobbels while in air....???
My front driver side wheel can be rocked back in forth while it is obviosly in the air....my grandfather noticed it and says its a bad tie rod, i wanna no what u guys think, and/or how much to fix my self, thx...

depends what direction back and forth is.
if its in the same arc as turning the wheel, it could be anything in the steering linkage.
if its in and out then its your wheel bearings..
