power steering leak
i have a leak in the back of the steering box where theres sort of a flange all the way around. its where the column goes into the box but all the way out at the edge, not the rubber seal.
if i clean it off with brake cleaner and start it up you can see it oozing out all the way around the edge. is there any easy way to seal that up? i've never done anything with steering boxes on these cars.
BTW, how much does a rebuilt box from somewhere like autozone cost?

same problem.
i am having the same problem, however mine is leaking around the shaft. advance wants 220. and autozone wants 180. both have a core charge. i decided to look into some sort of kit and it turned out there is a input shaft seal kit. i picked it up at autozone for 9.99 . i have yet to get it fixed as i havnt figured out how to remove the steering shaft (which is actually why i logged on just now!) a freind of mine who is a mechanic told me i can do this with the box in the car. my car is a ws6 car so the parts or prices may differ but hopefully this helps, derek
