Idler arm question
I just replaced my idler arm, since it seemed to have more play than I
liked. The new one is a hefty TRW piece. The one I took out appears to be a
GM part, since it looks like the one in the parts book, with a large hex
nut on the bottom, and comes apart. The old one turned quite freely and
when I turned it clockwise it unscrewed. The bearing area is actually a LH
thread. A really interesting design. Is this the one that supposedly wears
out quickly and should be replaced with a MOOG or TRW part?
