Rear end centered?
Had the 88 GTA up on the rack yesterday working on some items and trying to check things out on the bottom end. One of the things we were looking at was the emergency break adjustment. Never got that fixed but a different story. Anyway, I noticed where the brake line went over the pan hard that the pan hard was bent. That got me checking some more and got the tape measure out. Looks like the rear end may be moved over about a half inch. It's hard to tell exactly where it's supposed to be. Had a friend with a pan hard from a 94 that he had replaced. We used his old stock one. Looks like it moved the rear over a little bit but still not sure if it's in the right place.
Anyone have any pictures of their rear end under the car and/or some measurments. Tried a straight edge over the tire but you never know if the fenders are still right. Thing I noticed most was the upper bump stop on the drivers side is within a 1/2 inch of the tire. This is when it's up on the rack, I need to crawl back under when tires are on the ground. Haven't had a rub but this one worried me.
Any suggestions appreciated!
TIA

Never mind...
found out things look back to normal when on the ground. I had worried about this one all night thinking I had something bad wrong. The original pan hard was bent but the replacement got things back in line. After replacing the bar, it was still on the rack looked like it was 3/8 to 1/2 off to the right (passenger side). Makes sense once you think about it. Pan hard bar is attached to fixed point on that side. When the suspension and pan hard drop down on the lift then the rear end will move a little right.
It's hard to measure on the ground and I was only able to use control arms for reference point but all appears to be good now. Need to put it on stands and do some cross measurements but I think that will just confirm it's OK.
