C5 Z06 Brakes

OK,

I welcome any input from those who have done this upgrade, or anything similar.

I just ordered Z06 calipers, rotors, carriers, pads, etc.

Doing a search on "C5" wont work here, so forgive me, if this was already covered.

Plan is to do basically a 13" setup on the front, modifying the spindles, turning a 10.5 rotor for a hub, and creating a mounting plate/bracket to accept the Z06 calipers. I already run a 1/4" wheels spacer and longer studs up front. So standard rotor + Z06 discs seem fine.

I have studies virtually all the other threads on similar upgrades, but was left with some confusion of the different PBR calipers. I'm not sure even what the differnces of ALL the calipers exactly are. But the C5 Z06 ones seem to be a safe bet.

Anyone have any input on this?

What are the differnces between the C5 and C4-GS and C4-HD calipers? All of these three were designed for 13" thicker than 1" rotors, right? (as was 1LE).

Ryan, there is a pretty in depth thread about the C5 upgrades, the Z06 and standard C5 brakes are the same (other than caliper color) IIRC.

Dewey,

A link to the thread would be fantastic.

I have PM'ed Ed a few times. I didn't realize he a complete kit. I would have picked one up. Ed is using C4 stuff.

Parts should be here in two weeks. Yes, I'm aware that Z06 are same as all C5's.

toddlsf is the C5 guy, I can do C5s too but the C5s are his baby and I choose to leave them alone and not interfere with them.

Here's the link to his stuff:

I'm sticking to the LS1 and C4/ C4 HD stuff.
