Newbie:Tire pressure on 255/60-15?
Yesterday I bougth my first amcar. A TransAm -84, 305 LG4. It has TurboWheels with Turbostar radial T/A 255/60-15. I know the stock size is 215/65-15, but what tire pressure shall I use on these 255? (The tires are marked M+S, but I dont think they are designed for winter....

as for daily driving, look on the side wall. it should say what psi not to exceed, so air them up close to that. the higher the psi the better gas milage you will get. but at the track keep droping you pressure by a psi or 2 until your 60' stops going down.

But with nearly 35 psi, wouldnt I get exessive wear in mid-track on tire?

personally i always run my tires at either the max psi or 1-2 above...it shouldnt excessively wear the middle of the tire, besides...that is where the tread is...and that is what you want touchin the pavement...

If you check them when they are cold (have not driven the car in awhile) keep them at 30 for normal driving 9for your case). I would only drop the rear pressure and increase the front pressure for track duty. Remember that as you drive your tires heat up and your tire pressure will increase as much as 5 psi. Going past the max pressure can cause excess wear on your tires. I keep most of my tires 5 psi below if the have a max of 35 psi and I keep them 10 psi below if they are max of 44.
