Steering Gear Box

Hey, I picked up a Camaro, told it was an 86, dont care it has a 2.8 liter and tranny i could swap into my 85 which is why i got it. some dude "skinned" it for a dirt track race car. anyway, it has a gear box for the steering that has one power steering hose that comes out of the pump goes down the left side to the radiator and then across the bottom of the radiator to the right side of car then loops back to the left side and up the left side into the box. is this a special gear box or something? the guy i got it from mumbled something, but as i wasnt interested in nothing but the motor and tranny, i didnt pay attention. my power steering hoses come out and go pretty much straight in, no long lines on it? i got it up on stands to disconnect the drive shaft and tranny linkage, and noticed it also has a rear sway bar on it. well i should say, had one on it, its going on my 85 now. along with a complete poly front end, this car should handle like a dream. anyway again, anything special about the steering gear box? thanks in advance!

one of my power steering hoses kinda does the same thing and mine is stock. Follows the lower radiator support and then back. Its normal.

Its a cooler for the power steering fluid, adds volume to the system, and puts the hoses into the air flow.

car Z-28 with 2.8?

according to the VIN on this site, its a Z-28 made in Van Nuys. so i am assuming it means a better gear box and of course the cooling part makes sense...may just take it off and put it on the 85 as well...thanks! still cant believe a Z car came with a v-6, its the first one i have seen. i know the newer/latest models do, you can hear it in the exhaust but in the 80's???
