Replacing Wheel cylinders

I need to replace my wheel cylinders in the back drums of my camaro because they are leaking. I called the parts store and they said they had them, but needed to know if I had a metric or inch thread for my wheel cylinders. Did camaros in 85 come with a metric and inch threads on wheel cylinders and how do I tell which one on I have? The shop manual made no mention of metric and inch thread wheel cylinders. I have a 85 Z 28. Any help would be appreciated.

My 86 is standard thread. Strauss Auto was able to tell me after going to four other shops. Fortunately, they were right. I'm pretty sure yours will be standard as well, but you can always get both and return the one you didn't use. You will also need a 12mm box wrench to get the line off.

incase you dont already know....there is a tool that is like 5-10$ that you can buy at Autozone i think and it makes the removal and instalation of those things alot easier than using tiny poky type screw drivers.....INVEST IN THAT TOOL!!! its worth it....

what the tool does is help remove the retainer Disk/Ring that actually holds the cylender to the drum....

Thanks for the input guys. The wheel cylinders turned out to be metric for my 85. It was just a big hassle getting the drum back together after putting in the new wheel cylinders.

Alright, so we have an 85 Z28 with metric thread and an 86 Sport Coupe with standard thread. Anyone else? Let's get a list going. This is good info.
