car steers sloppy, guess why
i have never heard of this, but someone told me it was common, what do you guys think?
my car has been steering all over the road. i took it in to be looked at. to my suprise it was nothing like bushings or front end parts.
to my suprise, the shop told me the fram was cracked by the steering box. he said it was loose, and it was bad enough that i shouldnt drive it.
is this normanl/common? should i just sell it now?

It's also known as a steering brace. Check out TDS at the top of the page. They make the best wonderbar/steering brace IMO. I have one for sale right now in almost new condition if you are interested.
It's a brace connecting the left and right side of the frame near the front of the car (where the steering box sits).

In the picture on that link, the front of the car is the top of the picture, the back of the car is the bottom. The red piece is an aftermarket wonderbar. Some thirdgens came with a wonderbar, but most didn't. It's also known a steering brace.

I've heard a ton of people say this is a common problem on thirdgens, but can someone tell me exactly what part of the subframe/steering box is likely to crack. I just put on all new steering parts, and it still steers sloppy, so I bet I've got some welding to do. Next question; do I weld it with the suspension loaded? It makes sense, but I'd like to here from someone who knows for sure how to fix this problem. Thanks a lot!
