streering upgrade question

Hey everyone,

I am looking at completely rebuilding my front suspension and looks like while I am at it, I will also replace steering components (idler, tie rods, center link, ...).

I did hear many discussions about the gear boxes (rack and pinion? or is that something else). I am starting with 88 V6 camaro. Should I leave the gear box stock, or are there better things out there?

This car will definitely see the track and I do want to build it for curves. So any ideas/suggestions?

Somebody makes a (nonpower) rack and pinion,
for the gen3.
Other than that, I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions.

I'd stick with a stock box, something out of a WS6 or IROC with the better ratio.

yeah, I don't think I am going to go with non-power unit. I think that's what the guys use who mostly do drag strip.

I guess IROC/WS6 would be a good choice. Do you guys think it is better to look for remanufactured unit or get one from J/Y and rebuild it myself? Do those things even need rebuilding, or can be serviced?
