Rebuilding my entire suspension & brake system, and bought the new Moog replacement springs. I am having many of the parts powder coated, and wanted to do the springs as well since they only come painted. Wondered if the heating process used to cure the powder coating would have any negative effects on the springs?

The 300-325 degree temp used in powder-coating shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks lonsal. That is what I thought, but wanted to see if anyone else had any experience with it.

They'll need to bead blast or chemically strip them to bare metal to powder-coat them. Again, no problem for the springs though. Don't let them use a burn-off oven. The temp in that oven is much higher, but I'm not sure what temp it is.

Thanks again lonsal.
I currently have some parts at the powder coater and I know that they do not use a burn off oven, they media blast their parts prior to coating. I should be talking to them next week but wanted to be prepared with the proper knowledge before hand.

They will be fine. blast em, prep em and coat em. Ive done a few sets.

Some powders need to flow out at 425-450 and Then cure at 325-350 but either way they should be fine.

Preferred Powder Coatings out of Port Clinton just a short distance to the west of me. Having both sway bars done in red; the k-member, both control arms, and both k-member to body braces in semi-gloss black, done for $90 total. Price includes media blasting and cleaning.

Never chemicly strip springs as this will change the caracteristics of the material and they might break at some point. Just sand blast / media blast them before powder coating them. This is what I did with my stock springs and they turned out great and I've been using them for more than 2 years and had no problem still looks like new.
