J65 brake question

Yo guys, my 88 IROC has the J65 4 wheel disc setup. I'm looking at pads for this thing, and one listing I saw says it uses the SAME MKD-154 pads front and rear. Both!

Other listings call for a MKD-413 on the rear.

Which is correct?

Thanks.

The rear pads are an MKD-154, with one of the tabs cut off. That's probably the MKD-413 pad.

The MKD-413 pad is the "1LE" Performance package pad, used on disc rears from '89-up and on the '88 1LE cars...all 4 of them.

OK, since I obviously don't have one of the four 1LE cars, then my rear pads can't be the MKD-413.

So I guess it's MKD-154s all the way around, correct?

Do you guys know if anyone makes a slotted rotor for this thing?

PowerSlot and a few others. For quick matches, go to www.tirereck.com and follow the instructions.

Be careful with choosing rotors, because some people will try and sell you the wrong part. I found a couple of places that would sell slotted EBC rotors for a J65 but when I was looking in the EBC catalog, they don't have a rotor for a J65. I'm inclined to beleive the manufacturer and not a distributer, so check the manufacturer's pages before buying from whoever.

I have confirmed that the 1988 J65 cars use the MKD-154 pads front and rear.

Powerslot looks to be making slotted rotors for the J65,

Now what would be the exact Bendix part numbers for those TitaniuMetallic pads?

Also, any info on the adjustable proportioning valve?

Thanks.

That's easy. Part # MKD-154.

I've been ordering that part number since 1994, before Bendix started the Titanium stuff. The titanium is just a coating to help the bedding process; Bendix brakes always worked amazing for me. I honestly didn't notice a difference when they moved to that Titanium coating thing.
