budget brake setup ??

Not looking to do the 1le upgrade or spend a lot of dough. Looking for opinions on best aftermarket pads in terms of performance, life, and amount of dusting. Hawks, EBC?? Also slotted/drilled rotors?

Are you just going to replace the pads and stuff or do you want to replace some of the equipment? If you want to keep the stock equipment then probably want new pads, better lines, and a proportioning valve. If you want to do a budget equipment replacement maybe look into the new SSBC dual piston calipers and then re-use the stock rotors. Still consider the lines and proportioning valve. Or if you want to take it a step further you can look into the C4/LS1/C5 conversion. All of those will come out cheaper than a brand new 1LE kit. If you're looking for a budget rear upgrade (from drums or something), I think the LS1 rears win hands down.
