SFC's are awesome!

I just got my Spohn boxed SFC's installed on my car. I can't even describe the difference. It is extremely noticeable on my car!! I don't have those stupid interior rattles anymore, and the car doesnt feel like it's gonna fall apart when I hit the big bumps on the roads.

I recommend SFC's to everyone, they are defintely a good purchase and should be the first thing to mod on your suspension. You won't be disappointed!!!

I bet my father 150 bucks that SFCs and a STB will make a noticable difference in the way the car feels. He doesn't believe me heheh.

Can't wait to get that money.

My Alstons made a huge difference. If I would have known, I would have did it when I first bought the car.

People seem to be reluctant to actually do this mod, I guess because it isn't big and shiny and sitting right up on top of the engine to oooooh and aaaaah over when they open the hood. It's amazing how much good invisible things can do, and how useless big shiny things usually are, but yet how willing people are to do the useless shiny thing while neglecting mods that actually accomplish something.

i am looking into a new set of them from spohn and i was just wondering how much work it really is to putting them on. from what i understand you must bolt it in and tig weld it in. is it a lot more invloved than that or is it hardly any work at all?

Some people must live under a rock or don't read. SFC' s have been a HOT TOPIC over the years and how they improve the stiffness of the 3rd gen cars. So I am surprise when someone posts the improvement of SFC installation. Everyone should know this by now. And it makes no difference what brand they are as long as they are welded in.:hail: :hail:

Yea... I know they've been a hot topic, I bought the damn things 2 years ago. Money and time have stranded me from actually putting them in until now..

I will proceed to go back under my rock

Hello,

I noticed you live in MA. Can you tell me where you had yours installed and how much? I will be getting some soon.

Thanks.

I had them installed by my buddy Matt at Chickens Customs www.chickenscustoms.com

Not sure on the exact cost, since he had to repaint the back half of my car at the same time... but I would say around $100. I will PM you their phone number.

I just installed my Alstons last week and noticed a huge difference. (T-top car, w/ 182k miles). SFC's were bolted and welded. The car feels great, much more solid. You dont even notice when the T-tops are off. It almost feels like a different car.

This is because people are reluctant to weld things on their cars. Most modifications can be undone easily. Not so with sfc's. Even after seeing proof 100 times over i'm not sure i'm ready for a permenant mod. Then again sfc's could be the one thing to save my car, like the little creases in the body panels at the corner of the windows. Torque isn't the greatest for a unibody car. Its just that my body and paint is in very good original condition and i want to keep it original, or at least be able to put it back to original some time down the road.

I've owned my car since it was new back in 1985. The SFC's definitely makes the car more solid since I installed them last year. It doesn't rattle as much when it goes over bumps much like my BMW and VW. Solid as a rock. Didn't really know about them until I found this site. I bought the Kenny Brown SFC's. Why -- Kenny Brown is located locally in Indianapolis and they will install them (so I assume they should install it right). I paid about $450 for them installed. They also put my LCA's on at the same time. The rear part of the SFC attaches to LCA mounting point. The only problem is the exhaust rattles on the SFC when I go over bumps and in reverse. They recommended that I replace the motor mounts (haven't done it yet -- Too many things to do and only me). I was going to do them with a suspension and brake upgrade (ebmiller or Baer). Nevertheless the SFC are a good choice.

when you weld them in place i take it that mig welding is better for this and if so then what are the settings you should put on the welder ?
