my brakes SUCK!! need help

my rotors are warped, pads are squealin' and it sucks. since its time to do my brakes i would like to go ahead and upgrade but im unsure on what exactly i need to do. i have already ruled out any aftermarket kits b/c of the price and i radther go with the c4, c5, or ls1 upgrade. i already priced the calipers, pads and rotors on all three and they were ball about the same price and i would think they are close in performance. pretty much all i know so far is that i have to have a stock set of rotors machined down to use as a hub, after that im lost. if any one could point me to a link of give me some info on this i would appreciate it.

Depending on what size wheels you have you could be limited. If you have 17s or larger then no problems. If you have 16s or smaller you won't be able to fit the C5s and maybe not the C4HD, but I can't be sure on the C4HD. NOtice I say C4HD, the standard C4 will fit behind most 16s. And LS1 fit fine behind most 16s. You can search around on this board and find any info you want on swapping to any of the above brake systems. They can be done inexpensively and they all work great...

I have 4 wheel disc, and picked up slotted and cross drilled rotors for all 4 wheels for $240 at http://www.irotors.com

If you're very serious about upgrading and are running stock-sized wheels looked toward Brembo. I carry them on a case-by-case basis (don't actively sell them because they are a slow moving product).

Brembo doesn't make a plus-sized rotor combination for the thirdgen at this time. Baer does but expect to pay around $1500 for an upgrade kit.

Take care,
colin
