Weak Brakes...Confusing...

Okay heres the situation...I have a 1984 Camaro Berlinetta with a 89 RS Drum Brake Rear end in it. Also with a 91 Camaro Booster and master cylinder. And the brakes wont really work for ****. No matter if I'm going fast or slow if I slam on the brakes the car will just coast to a stop. I already tried bleeding the brakes and checking the lines and everything is fine. But for some reason the brakes just wont work good. My 1991 Camaro was able to lock up the brakes with almost the same setup except for one difference. The Proportioning valve...in the 91 I had an adjustible wilwood. I had 100% going to the front and about 90% going to the rear.

Is the 84 Proportioning valve weaker then other models?

Considering that the front brakes always get 100% pressure even with the factory valve. THen atleast my front brakes would lock up. Though for some reason it doesnt do anything at all. The calipers from the front are also from my 91.

Side Note: Even with the factory 84 Booster and master it was weak.

I had the same problem with my stock proportioning valve a few years back. I have owned this car for about 12 years now and gradually felt even the front brakes weakening over the years even with new rotors and pads (definately had proper tolerances with new rotors). The fronts got to the point they they would not lock no matter how hard I stood on them. I finally pulled the factory valve out and installed a new 1LE prop valve- problem solved. with everything else staying the same. All four corners then locked fairly easily and very equally if stomped on after that- I had rear disc on though, not drums (car was originally drum)

Okay I put in the Wilwood proportioning valve and everything is good now. I can now lock up the wheels and the car stops pretty damn quick now. I guess the factory one was bad...or just maybe for that model or something it was weaker.
