my brakes failed

ok so im driving to a car show all happy i got new headers and a dump and my car is sounding a nd looking great, im on the george bush turnpike and im coming up to the toll booth and i hit the brakes to slow for the speed bricks, turtles... let off the brakes 'bump' 'bump'. go over the bumps, and now the brakes feel like there is a stick holding the pedal from going down, i cant push the pedal down hardly any, and the car wont stop, itll slow a weeny bit but it wont stop, so i limp home and check for loose lines under hood and see nothing out of the ordinary. the brake booster hose to the intake looks fine and all conected.

what could a jarring bump do to my car to make the brakes fail like this, misalign a pad or something?what the heck!

-doug
ill check this in the morning, along with the car at work, thanks for any sugestions.

PooPoo happens! Sounds like you've lost either vacuum to your brake booster, booster has gone bad or you've lost pressure to the rear brakes!
