wheel question (have yet to get an answer)

I'm looking for a decent preformance wheel thats designed for occasional street use and autocross

i understand to stand up to street use, its going to be heavier than a pure race wheel, I'm okay with that, i'll probably have a second set of wheels once I start getting more serious

what I'm looking for is suggestions for a good tire profile/wheel size and weight trade off, and I'm looking for names of specific manufacturers, I was probably going with a steel wheel just for durability and safety sake, but i'd like it to still be as light as possible (not looking for the bling, hate the bling), the only thing anyone has mentioned is Diamond Racing

I've talked to all the catalogs, and I work in an autozone so I've had plenty of sources to go looking through, and all I have found is either a fashion statement or its a really light drag wheel that wasn't designed for a lower profile tire and street use, the catalog companies have been useless, I know there has to be something out there, but this is about the tenth forum I've gone through, the other camaro forums offered nothing and the autocross forums were worse, I know people autocross these cars, what kind of wheels are they running

thanks

Well I just run 16x8 IROC wheels and 245/45-16 GoodYear Eagle F1's. If I were to get more serious and buy some sticky tires I would probably go with tried and true Kuhmo VictoRacer V700's. For wheels I would probably get some 17x8 Cragar "Black Soft 8" wheels. These are steel wheels black powdercoated. No bling and they are reasonably priced. As for the size tire I could guess at 245/45-17's up front and 255/40-17's out back.

Most Autox's stay with 16x8 stock wheels or go with some 4th gen 17x9's. That is a good starting point and then they add some good rubber to them for great results.
