Alright guys, please help me decide which wheel tires to run...

Well, after seeing LBSZ28BLOWN's car I REALLY want 315's in the back with a 17x11 ZR1 wheel. Not sure if I want to go through all the trouble with the inner fender and rolling the outer lip. So my question is what about a 17x10 instead? I would still have to use a spacer obviously, but I should still be able to fit a 295 in the back, right? Will I have to modify anything to make that work? And as far as the sizes go should I stick to a 295/35/17 rear and a 275/40/17 front? Thanks for any input, Paul Moore

why do you want 11" 315+ in the rear? do you have over 400 rwhp or auto-x the car?

why would you need to use a spacer...? you would need an adapter to run that type of wheel. you could pick up a custom wheel that wide though and not need adapters. would look 100% better with less hassles.

with the right backspacing a 295 fits easily in the rear with the lowest of suspensions. modification depends on the rims. if you had custom wheels made with the right offset/backspacing no you could get them right where you want without any quarter work. you would still need to do some inner fender work but nothing a hammer and 5 min couldn't fix easily.

Well, the motor that I have built for this car is EXPECTED to have 475HP on the motor. Now I didn't dyno it, heck it's not even running yet but it will be soon. I don't know what that will translate to in RWHP but it's a good guess to say in the ballpark of 390 at the wheels. Anyway, I drive cars very hard. I am a suspension *****, just take a look at my sunbird. I take sharp turns at 60+MPH regularly but my suspension is setup for that. That car hos no power whatsoever so I don't have to worry about getting squirrely. WIth 400+ HP on tap though it is a different story all together.

wait until the car proves you need that type of tire....if the motor ends up lower at 3-350 rwhp you'll be sorry you have such wide tires. 295 is perfect.

Well, that is what I figured on after the car is up and running. I get to drive all types of cars everyday(I work as a technician at a Lexus dealership) so Porsche, Mercedes, and Vettes are a common occurance. I did drive a Z06 Vette the other day, the one that has 405HP from the factory and it was running a 295 tire in the rear. I like the way the car handled, and with the 6 speed ZF tranny it obliterated the rear tires at will with traction control turned off of course. Normall I would say to go 275 all the way around but I dont' want to be spinning tire every time I take off at a stoplight(although it would be kinda cool....)

Note to self: Dont take my car to that Lexus dealership.

(Not that I'd take it to any Lexus dealership anyway)

I didn't 'beat' the car, I just wanted to test it out to see what my car might feel like when it's all done. By the way, sideways in 2nd gear, and grabbing 3rd was awesome!

true, however remember that probably isn't rear wheel horsepower if it's factory...
