Will this tool work?

hey all i need to know if i can use this tool to change my brake pads?

im gonna put it on my x-mas list if it can. basically i just need to change my 87 GTA pads, my gf's 04 grand am and sisters 00 grand am. will it work?

agree buy a 6" or 8" c clamp it'll work just as good and have lot of other applications. i don't have one of those tools, never wanted one, and don't see the need. i have enough tools if i sold them i could buy a house, a cheap house, but still buy a house and like i said you won't find one in my tool box.

i use large channell locks and the worn pad. Faster than the clamp!

Axle/Gears: ones with teeth
rear disk you need a special tool that turns the piston as it compresses also....real pita

I have one of those and it works great for doing the front pads on my car. Better than a C-clamp I think.

I disagree. The 8" C-clamp is much better. It uses a T-handle which means more leverage which means less strain on the wrist. It's also heavier which makes it more effective for throwing at people who get on your nerves.

They sell those at Autozone too...I got one but couldn't figure out how to use it so I went back to using the C-clamp. My brother used that tool when installing a set of lowering springs on a Chevy truck.
