Front sway bar removal better?
Hey, I read an article in which some 'experts' were discussing removing the front sway bar for a street/strip car or pure strip car. My car is indeed street strip and although it is a daily driver, I'm still in college and won't drive it everyday and definately don't take very fast turns. Does removing the front swaybar actually help the cars straightline performance, not the fact that it removes weight but that the performance gains are elsewhere. Just wondering if it was worth it.

I would not recommend driving the car without the front sway bar. Unless you have a great deal of mods and are having traction problems i wouldnt even bother taking it off at the track. If you want just loosen the drivers side endlink and that will do almost as much removing the bar, but only do this at the track, there is no point in driving the car without a front bar even if you arent driving the car everyday.

TAKE IT OFF
I run no bar on front and a WS6 bar rear at the track...
You will 60ft better
and on the street I run the WS6 on front and a little V6 bar in the rear.. makes it roll over bumps better in the turns (not as twitchy)
Just go do it and drive around see how you like it.. I wouldn't leave it off for the street but it won't mess anything up...
oh and have new swaybar end links ready before you remove it .. if they are old they most likely be rusty and break

I drove without one for a few days. Took it off the night before the track day and then put it back on a day or two afterwards. Definitely scary when you aren't used to it on the highway. Lane changes can be scary at 80...even more-so at 115. If you aren't going to drive like a retard (like me sometimes), then take it off. Doesn't make *that* huge of a difference. Now take the rear swaybar off, and try driving around the block.. that's a different story (no good use for this..jsut comparing how the front bar isn't nearly as important as the rear one for cornering).
I couldn't notice the front popping up more or anything, but I wasn't paying much attnetion, and my car is basically stock so it doesn't pop up much with street tires and 2.73s anyways, lol.
My bar isn't nearly the 30lbs some people claim it to be...I think it was under 12lbs, but I don't remember for sure.

What size bar do you have, Dean? IIRC, my 36mm hollow bar [stock WS6] was 15lbs. I'd think a solid bar would weigh quite a bit more.
