SZ50EP or Indy 500?
Which tire is better for a 86 z with the basic 305? Im running stock wheels and basically looking for something that will hook up regardless street conditions, just best overall for the price. So Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 or Firestone SZ50EP

Those two tires are not even in the same league. The SZ50EP is by far a superior tire in every aspect.
I have run Indy 500 on my El Camino and I have had 3 different sets of SZ50's on the Camaro (1 set of SZ50's, 2 sets of SZ50EP's)
and can tell you the Indy 500 is a budget performance tire at best.

Usually before posting a poll you research a bit and determine that ALL of the options in the poll are viable for your situation. If one tire is half the cost of the other one while being from the same brand, chances are the expensive tire will win hands down..

Do you understand that possibly, maybe possibly it is not worth the doubled price for a vehicle that only has a 305 and does not need to be a speed demon? I have said that twice now that everything is stock and which one is best for the price? As of right now I am leaning towards the 500's because I think there best for my car as it is but I was not totally sure.

Your kinda correct. If you dont push the car to its limits, drive like a manic like me, a regular tire will last longer, and possibly work just fine for you.
As many people say, build for your use.

Ya I think I will go with the 500's unless one of you can recommend a better choice for around that price. Right now the engines rebuilt so I will wait a year or two and then put slightly larger wheels on and work the engine.

Nevertheless, I'd look into the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 or Fuzion ZRi

What...size....tire...are....you....running.
Stock wheels, aftermarket wheels, it doesn't matter. If they are stock you either have 15x7 or 16x8 which would be roughly P215/60R15 or P245/50R16

Well I have both tires. The Indy 500's for my 81 T/A and the SZ-50's for my GTA. Both are good. To tell you the truth if you run 15" wheels then you have only one choice anyway. Last I checked they didn't offer the SZ in a 15". Kind of defeats the purpose for that type of tire as they are in two different classes. The SZ's are stickier by the way. You will like the 500's. Nice tire.
