Making some tire decisions
Ok... I have to make some decisions regaurding tires in the next few months. My car got ZERO traction on the old dry Goodyear eagle II p215 R15. I have several options I am considering.
1. get 235s all around
2. get 245s in the back and 215s in the front
2. get nittos or BFGs in the back and some cheepo 215s in the front.
The only thing scaring me about the drag radials is drive train wear. I am putting a WC T-5 in. I dont want to frag the tranny or the Rear. The only other turn off to drag radials I cant find nittos in an appropriot size for my stock 15" wheels. BFG has a 235 r15 but I hear that the BFGs wear out faster than nittos.
Any opinions or experiences similar to this would be great. My car is an 85' LB9 car some little things done (rockers, intake work, exhaust) I also have posi (28-spline) SFC, and panhard rod, LCA and relocation brackets ready to go on.
I am kind of leaning towards the firestones all around, but if I will still be getting serious trackion issues I will reconcider.
Here are the regular tires I was concidering :
