20's on a 88 ta help!!

I have been searching and there seems to be a lot of confusion on size tires, offset/backspacing and rim width. Any out there who has 20's on there car? What size tire are you using front and rear? what width rim works best? what offset/back spacing?? Also lets see some pictures!!

Thanks

20's are alot of work to fit right... i have 20x8.5 and 20x10.5 and they are terrible to fit perfectly but man do they look great.

if you drive the car at all stick to 18 or 19 if you have to go larger.

im doin 20s as we speak and the size tire that i am running is a 225/35/20 all round.

The rims are the american racing twenty inches strong 02.

the offset is +18 and the backspacing is 5 7/16

hope that helps

iroc2nv

ps. with the tire size you dont want to go too big because of rubbing issues and im doin air ride so it wont work with any other tire.

so if you are thinking about lowering the vehicle..stay away from 20 inch unless you do air ride

hmmm 225's all around? On 20 inch rims? That will only look good from the side. My buddy has 10x22 inch rims on his '66 Riviera, and it looks bad . I wonder why boyd budnik etc. don't offer their 20" rims wider than 10 inch. And why should a 10,5x20 rim be harder to fit than the 11x17's some people in here are running?

i think 20's on a third gen would look good if you did it right..not like big baller rims..just plain but nice..and lowered to a good height i think it would do just fine

Every time I see 20's on a 3rd gen, I keep thinking of a reproduction matchbox car. To me it just doesn't look right .
But to each and his own.

20's in my opinion dont look right at all on thirdgens cuz the dimensions of the wheel wells, the fenders and the car itself make it look like an overgrown matchbox toy car. the looks dont fit at all with the car......

18's are perfect for a big wheel on our cars.

The prices on low-profile 18" tires are bad enough, I don't even want to think about 20s.
