Need help with center link.

Please help.
I decided to try to repair the front suspension on my Camaro because I may need to replace the steering box as well.

I had about 1/8" of slack at the joint at the steering arm due to the joint in the center link.

I was trying to remove the center link and it broke loose on the inside at the idler arm and just spun around. I managed to remove the nut after conciderable work but now I'm worried about the idler arm hole being too loose to install the center link because it didn't hold enough to loosen the nut. What's the best way to remove the nut if this happens again?

It appears to recently of had the tie rods replaced and I have a centerlink I can use from another f-body that seems to be good. I tried to buy just the center link but everywhere I called said I had to buy a kit that included the tie rods, etc.
Am I risking the stud spinning by installing a used centerlink?

I don't know who you called; but they're wrong. Look it up at partsamerica.com or napaonline.com, and get the part # before you walk in the door.

You can hold the joint together with a C-clamp or even a huge pair of Channellocks, to keep it from spinning while you tighten the nut.

I had called a dealership and a local Napa store earlier. I tried Bumper to Bumper now and they DO have just the center link.
THANKS!

I had tried a clamp to remove it but this thing wasn't budging. I ended up cutting it off with a dremel. (First time blues.)

I'm still wondering if the hole on the idler arm is any good because the center link stud came out so easily. I'm reluctant to replace it because from what I've read it's placement is so critical.

I'm off to the store.
Thanks again!

Visually inspect the hole. If it's smooth and machined-looking, you're fine. If it's rough on the inside, or obviously out-of-round, replace it.
