are 3rd gen springs compatable with 4th gen?

are 3rd gen springs compatable with 4th gen?
like it says...i promised my friend in his LS1 id give him my 2" drop springs when i get my coilovers and i was wondering if anyone knew if they were interchangable? if not, then they belong to a fellow 3rd genner of mine...

I know that the rears are but I believe the fronts are different. At the least I know that the spring rates are different for the fronts. The 3rd gens are further away from the tire so you need a higher spring rate on 3rd gens.
