Can anybody tell me how to change the ball joints in the front.

Easy 2-step process:

1.) Remove old ones.
2.) Install new ones.

Do a search this subject has been beaten to death. There are some great treads on this subject.

 

you need a ball joint press, you can rent them at most autozone type places. you have to remove the spindle from the lower joint then press it out with the press. and the press in the new one. best bet is to do a rebuild while your at it. new springs strust tie rod ends ect.

And try not to kill yourself on the spring...support the A-arm and use a safety chain to keep the spring in place just in case.
