stock rear wheel spacers???

These are for the 16" rims??? They were on my Formula but the rims themselves had been replaced with 15" Now running stock 16s from 87 and just got slotted 16s from 89. Am I right to keep the spacers on? Thanks, my search is coming up with different answers

how exactly do wheel spacers work and when are they needed? I've always wondered this and never thought to ask.

The .187 thick rear spacers were first used to make up the difference between the old aluminum drums and the later iron ones when used with the 16" wheels. Gm even stopped using them in later models, so don't worry about them they are not that necessary.

Oddly enough, some members, including me, have reported that spacers came on cars with rear discs. GM, go figure.
